If you can float, you can snorkel. If you have any doubt at all about your ability or comfort level while swimming, just find a beach with a sandy bottom, walk in to waist deep water and lay down on your back. 99.9% of the people will float comfortably. Of course, you are not going to snorkel on your back, so stand up, put on a mask, and insert the mouthpiece, put your face in the water and breathe. (Those that don't float naturally can avail themselves of a flotation device, such as a snorkeling vest.)

It's a bit difficult sometimes for first timers to get used to the different breathing pattern, but with a bit of practice, you should be able to master the skill. The next thing to do, if you are still timid, is lie down on your stomach and try breathing with your face in the water. Try to swim a few strokes. If you were not using fins as yet, now would be a good time to try them out.

Lang Tengah Island

One of nice place for snorkeling in Malaysia. I like this spot because it's very beautiful view and you can snorkeling only in front of beach. Only now I know name of this beach. I come here for a few years ago but today i know the real name : Pantai Pasir Mat Hassan (Mat Hassan sandy Beach). I found website told about this beautiful beach, i put it here...

Pantai Pasir Mat Hassan (or perhaps easily called D'Coconut Beach in reference to the resort that bears the same) is located in front of D Coconut Lagoon Resort.

In general, Pulau Lang Tengah itself is located almost midway between Pulau Redang and Pulau Perhentian. The boat departure is located at Merang Jetty, some 35 kilometres to the north of Kuala Terengganu.

DESCRIPTION:
Playing second fiddle to the more popular Pantai Pasir Air (or simply known as Blue Coral Beach), Pantai Pasir Mat Hassan is not particularly interesting. It does not have what it takes to make a great beach per se, but with the little amount of white sands that it has, accompanied by decently clear water and palm swaying trees, will still make a good photographic and relaxing moment for its patrons.

In general, the beach is quite rocky at parts. There were a lot of sharp debris by dead corals that were washed ashore. Nonetheless, you can still find you spot here in the patches of white sand to sunbathe and reflect on the beautiful surrounding.

There is a snorkeling spot nearby that I managed to venture called Karang Bahar, just off to the right hand side of the beach. It wasn't a particular good snorkeling I must say, but you can still see some varieties of underwater stuff.

The sunset view at this beach was particularly breathtaking during my visit. While you may not be able to see the actual sun setting on the far horizon, its golden reflections can still be thoroughly enjoyed from the beach.

The Best Snorkeling Place in Malaysia

I search from Google to check the interest place for snorkeling in Malaysia and I found one nice website ; www.malaysia-islands.com. This web list a best place especially list of island in my country like Redang Island, Tioman Island and Lang Tengah Island. At Redang Island, i have an experience snorkeling Marine Park. I found a huge couple of grouper from the sinking ship at Marine Park snorkeling spot. Very sweet memory for me, but i can't show it here because i don't have underwater camera to snap it. First time i use uderwater camera is when i went to Kapas Island with my family. This my snorkeling video clip from Kapas Island;

snorkeling forum

This morning after breakfast, just surfing via google and check email i try to search about snorkeling. So, i try to looking to any forum about snorkeling. I found one of snorkeling forum, snorkelingforum.com but I'm not registered yet. Just for survey only. My first impression, not bad la. I want to look in that forum, are they have experience about snorkeling in my country. My hometown also have more nice place to snorkeling like Tioman Island, Redang Island in Peninsular of Malaysia or Mabul Island, Mataking Island in East Malaysia.

Normally I aleady going snorkeling more than three time at a different place. But untill now, my trip only in Malaysia like Redang Island, Lang Tengah Island, Tioman Island and Kapas Island. Depend to my budget maa... but first time I take a photo only at Kapas Island, Terengganu.
